The machinery and electrical & electronic equipment sector encompasses a great diversity of industries, with the common factor being electricity in the products and/or services offered. The industries in question are involved in a large number of key sectors for the economy, and their diversity and number are such that they can be said to make up a macro sector.
Electricity dependency has also conditioned the type of environmental legislative framework and regulation, dominated by the European Directive on Energy-Related Products and the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive, both under constant review.
This all confirms a dynamic sector that is also facing the challenge of the durability of its products, which involves the adaptation to new business models in the near future, by means of the application of servitization strategies. All those aspects will be analysed in this session, from an eminently practical focus.
