On 2 December 2015, the European Commission adopted an ambitious package of measures for the circular economy. The package consists of an EU plan of action with measures that address the whole life cycle of the products: from design, through supply, production and consumption, to waste management and the secondary raw materials market. Ecodesign plays an essential role in all of them.
The circular economy is regarded as a sustainable economic alternative to the linear economic system that currently predominates based on produce-consume-dispose. The need to adopt a stable and sustainable economic system is increasingly greater in a finite world. The transition towards a more circular economy offers companies great opportunities, but can be an important challenge.
This parallel session will therefore analyse this new legislative and regulatory environment and will showcase technical tools and practical examples on how to be able to address this change.
