Aurelio del Pino González, born in Madrid, graduated in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid.
He has been a civil servant belonging to the Higher Corps of Civil Administrators of the State since 1991.
He has held different managerial posts in the Ministry of Public Administrations, in different areas of activity related with administrative organisation and territorial funding and planning policies, including Deputy General Director of Management Control and Monitoring, Deputy General Director of Territorial Economy Information and Analysis, Deputy General Director of Autonomous Communities Economic Analysis and Deputy General Director of Information Technologies and Services.
In 2001, he joined the Ministry of the Economy, first as Advisor in the Technical General Secretariat during the Euro-transition process (for which he received the Treasury and Economy Order of Merit) and, from 2001 September to May 2007, he was Deputy General Director for Domestic Trade, which provided him with in-depth knowledge of the structure and legislative framework of commercial distribution.
Aurelio is currently Chair of the Spanish Supermarket Chains Associations and the associated posts and responsibilities include those of member of the Executive Committee of the Confederation of Businesses of Andalusia, Madrid and Galicia, member of the AECOC Food Security standing committee, member of the Food Chain Observatory of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment, member of the Commercial Distribution Observatory of the Ministry of the Economy and Competitiveness, Member of the Board of the Packaging and Packing Technology Platform, member of the Castilla y León Potato Pact Table, member of different Juries and Committees, and Chair of SIGROB:
He has taken part in many courses, congresses and seminars as a speaker and has prepared and overseen many reports and publications on the different areas that he has headed.
