The Basque Ecodesign Center is a private-public partnership initiative whose members are the Basque companies CIE Automotive, EDP Naturgas Energía, Euskaltel, Eroski, Gamesa, Iberdrola, Ormazabal Velatia, Orona, Vicinay Sestao, the Basque Government’s publicly-owned companies Ihobe and SPRI, and the main industrial clusters of the Basque Country. Its purpose is to help companies of the Basque Country to become more competitive on external and internal markets by means of developing ecodesigned innovative services and products.
The Basque Ecodesign Center was established in 2011 as an instrument to foster cooperation between private companies to more efficiently address the new market challenges by sharing expertise, detecting new trends, pooling experiences, etc., in short, by combining the skills of complementary sectors and coordinating cooperation proposals for innovative projects and initiatives aimed at harnessing the emerging green market resulting from the transition towards a Circular Economy.
The panel is going to analyse the achievements of the Basque Ecodesign Center over the years, along with the challenges and opportunities in the immediate future. This will be discussed by the partner companies, industrial leaders in their respective economic sectors and with strong international presence.
