The Basque Ecodesign Meeting 2017 to have two plenary sessions and nine parallel sessions
The list of parallel sessions is now available on the Congress website. Those sessions will take place over two days at one of Europe’s most important ecodesign meetings and which will be held in Bilbao on 19 & 20 September. Registration is now open for anyone who wishes to attend the event.
The Basque Ecodesign Meeting 2017 is structured into two plenary sessions and a total of nine parallel sessions. Two plenary sessions will be held in the morning of 19 September, the first of the two days of the congress. During the first session, entitled “Legislative and Regulatory Environment in Ecodesign in Europe”, leading European and Spanish institutions and stakeholders will analyse the main development arising from the approval of the “Circular Economy” package prepared by the European Commission in December 2015. The second, entitled “Ecodesign as a Means for Innovation In the Basque Country”, will showcase the initiatives underway in the Basque Country so that companies can integrate those concepts into their activity.
In addition, thematic parallel sessions will be run on the first day of the congress. The main regulatory and methodological trends in the framework of the Circular Economy Strategies and which have implications for companies will be analysed during those sessions. The sessions will be entitled: Ecodesign for a Circular Economy: from greater product durability to new business models; Transparency as a Means of Environmental Communication to the Consumer: from Environmental Production Declaration to Environmental Footprint; Environmental Driver in the Supply Chain: how to involve all agents in the environmental improvement of the business? and Sustainable Cities: new products and services for tomorrow’s city. Each one of the thematic parallel sessions will last a total of 3 hours, divided into two blocks, one lasting one hour before lunch and the other lasting two hours after lunch. All the sessions will be held simultaneously.
The sectoral sessions will be held on the second day and will be the opportunity to delve further into how to apply the concepts of the Circular Economy from the practical experience of companies both in Europe and in the Basque Country. And this will all be from a sectoral perspective so that the delegates may discover for themselves how to apply the technical concepts in the industrial reality of their sector. There will be five sectors that will be represented at the event: Mobility & Transport, Machinery & Electronic & Electrical Equipment, Furnishings & Architectures, Packing & Packaging, and Food.
Each one of the sectoral parallel sessions will last a total of 4 hours, organised in two blocks and divided by a coffee break. They will be held simultaneously in the same way as the thematic sessions. Each person who registers for the Basque Ecodesign Meeting 2017 will have to select one of the thematic sessions available and one of the sectoral sessions.
