Ignacio graduated in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country (1981) and he is currently the coordinator of the Ecodesign and Ecoefficiency Unit at Ihobe, S.A.
He started his professional career at Dow Chemical Ibérica (Tarragona) and subsequently joined Rhone Poulenc (Blanes).
In 1987, he moved to Ihobe, where he was initially technically responsible for solving pesticide pollution, where he oversaw the construction of the Barakaldo and Loiu safety cells and the HCH (hexachlorocyclohexane) chemical treatment plant. In addition, Ignacio managed the design and construction of the Advanced Recycling Centre for oils and solvents (Zamudio).
During a second stage working at IHOBE, he was involved in preparing plans, programmes and instructions in the fields of climate change, waste minimisation, ecodesign, contaminated soils, etc. Finally, for several years in the corporate arena, Ignacio has been tasked with coordinating the management of strategic planning, management plan, policy of excellence, etc.
